Spring has brought buckets of rain and bundles of lavender!
This week, Squirrel Squad is going nuts over lavender bouquets and culinary lavender from Buena Vista Lavender and Blooms, the restock of frozen goat’s milk from Cherish Creamery, and Northern Scoop Ice Cream Sammies with a new ice cream formula!
Karey’s new formula is as delicious as ever, but contains fewer additives and preservatives. New formula sammies in stock include The Classic, The Hat Trick, and Vanilla BBT. We also have Chocolate BBT and Molasses Latte sammies that were crafted before the switch but will soon follow suit!
We are excited to welcome 43 Jewelry Co. to Edinboro Market, starting Wednesday, April 17! Owner and artist Alexis Rhoades is a Meadville, PA native with a passion for exploring new avenues of creation, whether its jewelry made with crystals and precious stones, pyrography (wood-burning), or painting! We will be carrying a variety of her hand-made earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. If you’d like to ask her any questions or have an interest in learning more about Alexis’s work, stop by for a Meet & Greet on Saturday, April 20th from 12-3 pm.
ICYMI: We released a special Recipe Corner Newsletter for the Spring with recipes contributed by 3 of our producers, Steel Toe Farm, Sweet Nature Maple & Honey products, and Nova Maple Syrup! Click the download button below the two recipe cards to see or print the full collection!
From 12-3 pm on Saturday, April 27th, check out the beautiful hand-painted cards by local artisan Debby Gentile. This is a one-day pop-up, so don’t miss out!
Heads up: seedling sale TBA in May!
This year, instead of doing pre-order seedling sales, we’ll host a pop-up sale on two weekends in late May. Through this collaborative effort between Stephanie Thauer of Raintree Farms/Conscious Food Project and Stephanie Ciner of Wild Field Urban Farm we’re able to offer approximately 120 heirloom, non-GMO plants, including several tomato, pepper, and basil varieties, along with eggplants, tomatillos and ground cherries.
All seedlings are $5 each. Sorry, we’re not able to offer preorders or hold plants. Dates will be confirmed in early May. Keep an eye our social media accounts, our newsletter, and in the Market!
Our goal is to provide access to fresh, locally grown food while being an entrepreneurial marketplace for food producers; and an understanding of the importance of both.
