Happy 2022! New products, producers, visions, and much more awaits us this year!
What’s Fresh?
This week Squirrel is going nuts over No Dirt Farms prepared salads, our healthy snack bundles, and our latest producer Nova Maple Syrup!
No Dirt Farms is trying something new this year, and we are excited to be the guinea pigs. Pick up a Greek or Southwest Salad and let us and Amanda Hines (owner and master grower) know what you think! No Dirt Farms grows hydroponic lettuce, greens, and herbs, and partners on the all-local grocery box, 814 Freshbox.

Food for Thought
Remember how we started ‘writing our own headlines’
in 2021?
We were really inspired by that sentiment from September Newsletter #1 and decided to make this our focus in 2022, since what you focus on shapes what you take notice of most. Since we opened 4 years ago, we have focused on supporting 72 small businesses, all located within 150 miles of Edinboro, as they build their businesses doing what they love. Our offerings have expanded to cover fresh produce; grocery items such as bread, milk, eggs, and meat; body care; locally produced snacks and treats; handmade accessories; alpaca products and artisan goods; sustainably-minded home goods; seeds, plant starters, and fresh flowers during the growing season. Yes, this seems like a lot of products packed into just under 1,000 square feet, but we pride ourselves on creatively using that space to accommodate as many producers as possible! As we ‘write our own headlines’ in 2022 we are focused on building opportunity for the many talented folks in our local food system and artistic community by (hopefully!) expanding our facility.
Thank you to all of our producers and shoppers for allowing us to dream bigger
each year. 🙂
